‘Lost Detectives: Adapting Old Texts for New Media’
Exhibition Launch and Reception, with Claire Whitehead & Carol Adlam
Wednesday 22nd May at 4.30pm in School 5, St Salvator’s Quad
Following on from the successful talk in April, this event will see Dr Claire Whitehead from the Russian Department and author-illustrator, Carol Adlam, introduce and launch a selection of the artwork from their ‘Lost Detectives’ project. The event will begin with a short introduction to the project and latest progress in School 5 before moving out to see the artwork in situ in the St Salvator’s Chapel cloister gallery. Drinks and strawberries will be served as you look at the artwork and we’ll be happy to take any questions. All are very welcome.
We also have a very special guest in attendance: world-renowned crime novelist, Val McDermid, has kindly agreed to come along and learn about our project. Val is currently collaborating on a graphic-novel adaptation project of her own, arising out of a three-part radio series she wrote. You can listen to an edition of the BBC’s ‘Only Artists’ radio series in which she talks with the graphic artist Vin Deighan about their respective work here:
